Remembrance Sunday 10th November 2019

Sunday 10th November 2019 dawned, crisp and bright which was a pleasant sight after all the rain over the past few days.
I again attended the Upton-by-Chester war memorial service which had a large turnout of a few veterans and ex-service men and the local Scouts, Guides and other youth organisations.
We marched from the local church to the war memorial where a short service was held with the last post being played. All the wreaths were placed around the memorial and prayers given for all those that had made the ultimate sacrifice.

I find that as I get older these events seem to be more poignant to me personally, but I found it an honour to represent the West Lancashire Mark Masons yet again.

Since my last visit a remembrance Poppy trail has been created using a locally felled Cedar tree and one of the poppies on the trail is shown.
